Free monthly foodgrains for BPL and Antyodaya families (one of the five guarantees)
Anna Bhagya gives free foodgrains every month to families holding Below Poverty Line and Antyodaya ration cards. The grain is collected from fair price shops, where distribution is checked by biometric authentication. It is one of the five guarantee schemes in its current form. When grain stocks have been short, the state has at times paid cash instead, so confirm the current arrangement with the Food and Civil Supplies department.
