Social Security Pensions (old age, widow, disability)
Monthly pensions for the elderly, widows and persons with disabilities; paused accounts need verification
The state pays monthly social security pensions to elderly people, widows and persons with disabilities, together with the central NSAP pensions. In 2026 the state ran a verification drive to remove fake, duplicate and ineligible claims: reports say 91,152 pensions were cancelled and a large number of doubtful accounts were paused, which also affected some genuine beneficiaries. Who benefits: poor elderly, widows and disabled persons. Eligibility: age, income and disability rules apply and differ by pension; the reports we found did not give the amounts. How to apply or resume payment: go to the Nadakacheri or taluk revenue office, ask why your account was flagged, complete e-KYC, and check that your Aadhaar and bank account are linked and active. Arrears are generally released once verification is done. Budget: no separate allocation figure was found in the sources we checked.
