Vidyasiri Food and Accommodation Scholarship

Rs 1,500 a month for 10 months for OBC college students living in private hostels or PGs

Vidyasiri pays Rs 1,500 a month for 10 months (Rs 15,000 a year) towards food and lodging, plus a Rs 1,200 yearly book grant, by direct transfer to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account. Who benefits: OBC students from Karnataka doing a degree, diploma or postgraduate course who are not staying in a government or aided hostel. Eligibility: minimum marks of 55 percent for Category 1 and 65 percent for Categories 2A, 3A and 3B, at least 75 percent attendance, a college more than 5 km away, and a family income up to Rs 2.5 lakh for Category 1 and Rs 1 lakh for the other categories; only two sons per family can claim. How to apply: register on the Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP), choose Backward Classes Welfare Department and Vidyasiri, upload caste and income certificates, Aadhaar, marks cards and admission proof, then submit a hard copy to your college.
