PM Jan Dhan Yojana
Zero-balance bank account with a RuPay card and accident cover
Jan Dhan Yojana lets anyone without a bank account open a basic savings account with no minimum balance. The account comes with a RuPay debit card that includes accident insurance, and an overdraft facility for eligible account holders. It is also the account into which many government benefits are paid directly. Open an account at any bank branch or bank correspondent with Aadhaar and one photo. Insurance and overdraft limits have changed over time, so ask the bank.
