VB-G RAM G (replaces MGNREGA)

Guaranteed rural wage work, up to 125 days a year, from 1 July 2026

The Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, known as VB-G RAM G, replaced the 2005 MGNREGA from 1 July 2026. It guarantees rural households up to 125 days of unskilled wage work a year, instead of 100, with a floor wage of Rs 300 a day and a pause of 60 days in peak sowing and harvest seasons. States now bear about 40 percent of the cost. Existing job cards stay valid but need renewal and e-KYC. Ask your gram panchayat to register for work.
