Swachh Bharat Mission
Toilets, clean villages and cities, and waste management
Swachh Bharat Mission works to end open defecation, build household and community toilets, and manage solid and liquid waste in villages and cities. Eligible rural households have received an incentive to build a toilet, and the later phase focuses on keeping villages and towns clean and on waste processing. Apply for a toilet incentive through the gram panchayat or the municipality. The incentive amount and the rules are set by the Centre.
