Rs 24,104 crore mission for housing, roads, water, health and schools for the most vulnerable tribal groups

PM-JANMAN (Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan) is a mission for the 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in 18 states. It has 11 interventions through 9 ministries, including 4.90 lakh pucca houses at Rs 2.39 lakh each, 8,000 km of roads, piped water, 1,000 mobile medical units, 500 hostels, 2,500 Anganwadi centres, electrification and solar systems, and 3,000 mobile towers. Who benefits: PVTG families and habitations; in Karnataka these include communities such as the Jenu Kuruba and Koraga. Budget: total outlay Rs 24,104 crore, of which the Centre Rs 15,336 crore and states Rs 8,768 crore, over about three years.
