PM SHRI Schools (PM Schools for Rising India)

Over 14,500 model schools showcasing the National Education Policy

PM SHRI is a centrally sponsored scheme approved in September 2022 to upgrade more than 14,500 existing government and aided schools into model schools that show how the National Education Policy 2020 works in practice. It runs from 2022-23 to 2026-27 with a reported outlay of about Rs 27,360 crore. Students in the selected schools benefit from better classrooms, labs, digital learning, sports and green features. There is no application; schools are selected through a challenge process among those that sign the agreement with the Centre. Parents can ask the Block Education Officer whether their school is selected.
