Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)

Support for fish farming, boats, cold chain and fishers' insurance

PMMSY was launched in 2020 with an investment of about Rs 20,050 crore to raise fish production and fishers' incomes. It gives subsidies for fish ponds, cages, hatcheries, boats and nets, cold storage and fish markets, and covers accident insurance for fishers. Fish farmers, fishers, fish workers, vendors, fisheries cooperatives and entrepreneurs can benefit, with higher subsidy for SC, ST and women. Apply through the National Fisheries Development Board portal or the state Fisheries Department. Check the department for the current period and subsidy rates.
