PM Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (low-cost generic medicines)

Quality generic medicines at much lower prices from Jan Aushadhi Kendras

Under this scheme, Jan Aushadhi Kendras sell generic medicines at prices that are much lower than the branded versions. The medicines are supplied through the Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India and are tested for quality. Anyone can buy from a Kendra with a doctor's prescription, and doctors can write the generic name instead of a brand. Individuals, doctors, pharmacists, trusts and self-help groups can apply to open a Kendra, subject to space and licence conditions. Which medicines are stocked and the exact savings vary, so use the medicine finder and Kendra locator on the official site.

Rules, amounts and dates can change. Confirm the details on the official portal or at your taluk office before you apply.
